UCAS have much to celebrate this week as they find themselves winners in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Pride Awards 2008. The gold award was for internal communications, and with a recent overhaul of their intranet, new plasma screens and a successful weekly e-bulletin for staff, this triangle of communication presented UCAS with a good chance of picking up the award.
The award was presented to UCAS on Friday night in Bristol at a lavish award ceremony which included some of the regions brightest communication talent. The judging process is rigorous, with a national panel of industry experts assessing the shortlisted entries and choosing the winners across 24 different categories.
Eleanor Stevens, Senior Communications Executive at UCAS said: 'At UCAS we see internal communications as absolutely vital to the success of the organisation, and we've worked very hard over the past two years to try to ensure that all staff can easily find out what is going on. It's fantastically rewarding to see our efforts recognised in this way.'
Lis Anderson, Chair of the CIPR West of England said: 'To win a CIPR PRide Award is a tremendous achievement. This year's winners really do have something to shout about, having faced the highest number of entries and stiffest competition ever.'
Anderson later added: 'A CIPR PRide Award is a hallmark of professionalism and success, marking the best in our profession out from the crowd.'
